Foose to help with Performance Plus food drive

LONG BEACH, Calif. (Oct. 20, 2015) — Performance Plus Tire & Automotive Superstore will hold its 18th annual Thanksgiving Day Food Drive Nov. 22 at its store in Long Beach, hosting vehicle customizer Chip Foose at the event.

The food drive is set to take place from 8-11:30 a.m., the company said. Over the past 18 years, Performance Plus said it has fed more than 9,500 families through its food-drive efforts. This year, the company's goal is to help another 800 local needy families.

Volunteers who join the assembly line to pack boxes will be able to admire vintage vehicles on display, listen to live music by the Jazz Angels and get autographs from Mr. Foose. Complimentary coffee and donuts will be available as well.

The dealership also will hold a “Go Big or Go Home” raffle, with a grand prize that includes two Coker Tire-fitted bikes, a Monster Cruiser and a Wheelman; a Performance Plus fan pack that features a backpack, soccer ball, t-shirts, mugs, water bottle and a tool kit; and two GoPro cameras. Second prize in the raffle is a $500 Performance Plus gift card.

The dealership is asking people to help in any of the following ways:

• Attend the food drive on Nov. 22 to help pack the boxes;
• Send a check of any amount to Performance Plus Tire for the purchase of bulk food items to be distributed to non-profit agencies;
• Purchase a $1 raffle ticket for the “Go Big or Go Home” giveaway;
• Drop off non-perishable food to the store before the food drive beginning Nov. 1; and
• Help deliver food on Nov. 25 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
