Hercules adds to Ironman truck line

FINDLAY, Ohio (Oct. 13, 2015) — Hercules Tire & Rubber Co. has added three products to its Ironman I-Series medium truck line-up — two all-position tires and one for trailer applications.

“I-Series tires give dealers an entry-level option that meets nearly all the basic needs of their customers and do so with both quality and accessibility,” said Jedd Emans, vice president of marketing for Hercules, a wholly owned subsidiary of American Tire Distributors Inc.

Ironman I-402

  • Ironman I-402 Wide Base Mixed Service A/P, specifically designed for work trucks, features durable construction and deep tread for on- and off-road service; tear-resistant compound to guard against abuse from off-road applications; and deep tread for longer mileage. The tire initially will be available in four LRJ sizes — 315/80R22.5; 385/65R22.5; 425/65R22.5; and 445/65R22.5. A 315/80R22.5 LRM is expected to be available by year end, the company said.

Ironman I-502

  • Ironman I-502 Premium Deep Tread A/P premium all-position tire for both steer and trailer applications, features a five-rib design for longer mileage and shoulder wear resistance on steer axle use; deep tread (22/32nd inch) for longer mileage in high scrub applications; and solid wide shoulder to promote durability and smooth, even wear. The tire will be available in nine SKUs, including popular, high-volume sizes as well as a 315/80R22.5 LRM that is capable of hauling more than 11,000 pounds, according to Hercules.

Ironman I-480

  • Ironman I-480 Trailer Rib adds to the I-series line a size not previously available in Ironman Trailer Service — an 11R24.5/14 and /16. The tire is designed for short- and long-haul trailer applications and features a five-rib tread pattern for long mileage and shoulder wear resistance along with solid shoulders and four wide grooves to provide wet and dry traction.

Most SKUs are now available. Hercules said it will showcase the new tires at its booth, No. 43079, during the 2015 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas, Nov. 3-6.
