CYPRESS, Calif. (Oct. 12, 2015) — The National Auto Sport Association (NASA) has extended its race tire supply contract with Toyo Tire U.S.A. Corp., signing a five-year renewal covering NASA's various spec-tire classes for the 2016-20 racing seasons.
Toyo has been the official tire of and tire supplier to NASA since 2002, supplying NASA competitors with its Proxes line of competition tires.
The contract covers more than a dozen of NASA's classes that use spec tires, including: Spec Miata; Spec Iron; Honda Challenge; Spec E30, Spec E46 and Spec Z; and the recently launched NP01 NASA Prototype.
Neither NASA nor Toyo disclosed the value of the contract.
Toyo also will continue to offer a contingency program to NASA competitors in classes that allow open tire competition.
As a part of the contract renewal, Toyo continues as presenting sponsor for the NASA Championships — both the Western States Championships and the Eastern States Championships, to be held in 2016 at Buttonwillow Raceway Park near Bakersfield, Calif., and Watkins Glen International Circuit in Watkins Glen, N.Y., respectively.
“NASA and Toyo Tires have enjoyed an illustrious and lasting relationship together, and we couldn't be more thrilled to extend that relationship for another five years," said Jeremy Croiset, NASA director of business development.
