NEW YORK (Oct. 6, 2015) — Tire Consultants Group L.L.C., which specializes in providing sales, marketing and operational support to North American tire dealers and wholesalers, has named automotive industry veteran Arthur Mayer to oversee its new market research and business development unit.
Mr. Mayer, who joined TCG Sept. 1, brings more than 30 years of experience in the domestic and international tire and professional services sectors, the firm said, primarily in market and competitive research, marketing, business development and strategic planning.
He began his professional career as an industry analyst with The Freedonia Group, covering capital goods and technology, before moving to Germany to work for the firm's Merck & Co. subsidiary. He spent time working for Ernst & Young L.L.P.'s Center for Business Knowledge, Pharmacia and Omnicom before joining Dealer Tire L.L.C. in 2007 in a financial planning and analysis role.
Mr. Mayer's responsibilities with the firm included the development of OEM contracts, new markets and investments, potential partnerships/acquisitions, international expansion and new technology and service offerings, including what later became the company's RightTurn e-commerce website.
