K&M to consolidate Bismarck warehouses

DLEPHOS, Ohio (Oct. 5, 2015) — K&M Tire Inc.'s acquisition of Midwest Tire & Muffler Inc. of Rapid City, S.D., includes a provision to consolidate Midwest's distribution center in Bismarck, N.D., with its own warehouse in Bismarck.

The acquisition, announced by Midwest Tire last week to customers and vendors, expands K&M's distribution network to 20 warehouses with the addition of Midwest's in Rapid City and Sioux Falls, S.D. Financial terms were not disclosed.

“This acquisition will allow us to grow our customer base in North and South Dakota and to better serve some of our current customers in these areas,” said K&M Tire Vice President Cheryl Gossard.

“We're very excited about this opportunity. Customer service is our No. 1 priority, and we're looking forward to serving our new customers in these areas with our expansive product offering and dependable deliveries.”

The acquisition includes Midwest's tire inventory, delivery trucks and customer lists. K&M Tire also welcomed all Midwest Tire employees to join K&M.

Midwest Tire & Muffler carried 15 tire brands and distributed various equipment.

K&M has operated the Bismarck warehouse since 2010, when it acquired the facility from Universal Cooperatives Inc.

A family-owned company, K&M Tire was founded in 1970 by Ken Langhals as a two-bay gas station.
