Red Kap releases classic car builder's videos

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Sept. 30, 2015) — Automotive workwear manufacturer VF Imagewear Inc.'s Red Kap division has released three videos featuring Heath Pinter, an acclaimed BMX rider, X Games champ and classic car builder.

The video series traces Mr. Pinter's “passion-fueled journey” as he designs and builds a custom 1928 Ford Roadster specifically to compete in The Race of Gentlemen — a one-of-a-kind event scheduled to be held on the beaches of the Jersey Shore on Oct. 3 and 4.

Red Kap said Mr. Pinter's “distinctive build style and relentless passion for improving his craft have made him a natural fit to be featured in the series. Though he started out building vehicles for his personal use, his creations attracted enough industry attention to turn his hobby into a serious profession.”

The videos in the series are:

• “The Builder,” covering Mr. Pinter's goals and aspirations as a builder (click here);
• “The Craft,” which looks at the long road to becoming a true artisan (click here); and
• “The Build,” which offers a sneak peak of Mr. Pinter's roadster in the heat of competition (click here).

Mr. Pinter, a California native, is a Pro BMX rider and award-winning car builder. Several of his one-of-a-kind vehicles include a 1965 Lincoln Continental, 1954 Shoebox Ford, 1955 Buick Special, 1931 Ford Model A and a 1950 3-window Chevy truck that he displayed at the 2014 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show for Red Kap.

Chris Holcombe, vice president and general manager of distributor brands for Nashville-based Red Kap, said the company's new Craftsman series was developed to celebrate individuals who “have a passion for building and follow those dreams to build, whether they are an expert or novice craftsman.

“They are not always professionals — many are weekend builders or hobbyists — but all have an unrelenting aspiration in a job done right, and we want to honor these individuals.”

Red Kap said it will continue to add more Craftsmen to the program in the months ahead. Each will be chosen “based on authentic character, style and commitment to the automotive industry.”

For 90 years, Red Kap has produced workwear — including work shirts and pants, jackets and coveralls — for the automotive, manufacturing, transportation and construction industries. Red Kap and VF Imagewear are part of VF Corp.
