EVANSVILLE, Ind. (Sept. 29, 2015) — Vehicle components supplier Accuride Corp. is offering a free mobile application that makes its wheel and wheel-end product information and search tools accessible to customers from anywhere in the world.
The company said it has taken the features and functionality of its website and developed a user-friendly interface for iPhones, Android and other mobile devices. The new app provides a “helpful, easy-to-use resource for Accuride's commercial vehicle industry customers and company representatives alike, making it easy for them to find the component that's best suited for their unique application,” the company said.
The app's features provide users with immediate access to:
- Product searches for information on Accuride steel and aluminum wheel and Gunite-brand wheel end components any time, from anywhere;
- New return-on-investment (ROI) calculator allowing users to quickly determine the cost-savings of Accuride's Steel Armor steel wheels vs. traditional steel wheels that require refinishing;
- Resource library for product sales, service and technical information; and
- Installation and maintenance service videos for Gunite brake drums, Automatic Slack Adjusters and more.
“The changing dynamics of conducting business in the heavy truck industry drove Accuride to develop our new mobile app,” said Accuride President and CEO Rick Dauch. “This simple, user-friendly tool gives customers ready access to detailed information about our products, tools to help them calculate their added value, plus a series of videos that explain how to install and maintain them.
“With our sales force and customers in all sectors of the industry now relying on mobile devices, we believe that establishing this mobile platform will add real value for them. We plan to continue updating the app with new content that will expand the base we've established.”
Evansville-based Accuride teamed up with Gray Loon Marketing Group Inc., an Indiana-based marketing agency, to build the mobile app. Gray Loon specializes in both digital and traditional media services, offering what Accuride called a diverse portfolio of clients with cutting-edge design, development and strategy, print creative, branding and public relations.
Users can download Accuride's new mobile app either through the Apple App Store or Google Play from a mobile phone or tablet.
Accuride's product line includes commercial vehicle wheels; wheel-end components and assemblies; and specialty cast-iron components for a range of agricultural, construction and mining, and oil and gas equipment applications. It markets products under the brand names Accuride, Accuride Wheel End Solutions, Gunite and Brillion.
