PHILADELPLHIA (Sept. 28, 2015) — Pep Boys – Manny, Moe & Jack has selected Plombco Inc. as the wheel weight vendor for all of its locations in North America.
Plombco, based in Valleyfield, Québec, markets products under the Plasteel brand. The company said its premium wheel weights offer corrosion resistance along with a scratch-less feature that it said protects customer's wheels while allowing technicians ease of installation.
The privately held company, founded in 1985, claims to be one of the largest manufacturers of wheel balancing weights in the world. Plombco said it produces more than 1 million units per day in two highly automated facilities and its products are sold to OEMs and aftermarket customers across the Americas, Europe and Asia.
Plombco said in 2014 it was awarded a patent on the plastic-coated Plasteel design.
Philadelphia-based automotive aftermarket chain Pep Boys operates more than 7,500 service bays in over 800 locations in 35 states and Puerto Rico.
