SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (Sept. 3, 2015) — Federal-Mogul Motorparts has launched #PartsMatter campaign, an auto safety campaign for consumers and professional technicians throughout the U.S. and Canada.
The campaign by the Federal-Mogul Holdings Corp. division runs through Dec. 20, offering weekly cash prizes to winners who share photos and/or videos documenting a part failure on any passenger vehicle.
Federal-Mogul said this campaign is aimed at communicating the potential risks associated with choosing a replacement part or other automotive products from an unknown or unproven supplier. Consumers and technicians can enter for a chance to win one of three weekly Visa Prepaid Gift cards valued at $100, Federaul-Mogul said, by posting a photo or video of a part failure or related vehicle problem via Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or Tumblr, along with two hashtags — #PartsMatter and #Entry. Participants also can enter via the PartsMatter website.
The campaign involves several Federal-Mogul North American automotive parts brands, including ANCO, Champion, Fel-Pro, MOOG and Wagner.
“Parts Matter is a vital message for consumers and repair professionals because all replacement parts are not created equal,” said Laura Soave, senior vice president and chief marketing and communications officer for Federal-Mogul Motorparts.
“It is the automotive service industry's responsibility to help customers make smart decisions about parts that should help keep them safe on the road.”
While many parts may look alike, that is where the similarities end, she said.
“Some are designed and manufactured by leading suppliers with proven track records of delivering safety, performance and durability,” Ms. Soave added.
“Many of these suppliers have invested millions of dollars in advanced research and development facilities and adhere to rigorous testing standards before releasing a part to the market.”
