Goodyear reported that at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Aug. 31, she sustained a fatal injury in an industrial accident at the plant. Goodyear's on-site emergency response team, as well as local emergency personnel, responded immediately and all parties are cooperating in the investigation into the root cause of the incident, the Akron-based company said.
According to her obituary on GoDanRiver.com, Ms. Strader worked as a windup operator and roll changer at the plant.
Additionally, Goodyear said it reported the incident — which it did not describe — to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OHSA) and will fully cooperate with the agency.
“Our immediate priority is to provide support and assistance to Jeanie's family as well as the entire team of associates in the Danville plant as we cope with the grief of losing a teammate,” said Goodyear-Danville Manufacturing Director John Romero in a statement.
“My thoughts and prayers are with Jeanie's family, friends and co-workers.”
