BOWIE, Md. (Aug. 14, 2015) — The Tire Industry Association's (TIA) Certified Automotive Tire Service (ATS) Advanced Instructor Training Course for women only will be held in Denver instead of Phoenix.
The dates for the course, Oct. 6-9, remain the same, according to TIA. The move was necessitated when the training facility TIA planned to use in Phoenix announced its closing, the association said.
Lincoln College of Technologies, a frequent venue for TIA training courses, will be the new location of the ATS course, TIA said. This will be the first-ever TIA training course specifically for women, it said.
The Certified ATS Instructor Program is a four-day, in-depth course combining classroom and hands-on training, TIA said. Industry professionals who complete the course successfully can then return to their workplaces to train technicians for ATS certification. Since 1997, more than 93,000 technicians have been certified in the program, TIA said.
Certified ATS training includes safety guidelines and step-by-step procedures for all aspects of passenger and light truck tire service, TIA said. A full day is devoted to service requirements for the full range of tire pressure monitoring systems (TPMS).
For the Denver women's only class, TIA has secured a room block at the Embassy Suites Hotel Denver Stapleton at the discounted rate of $149 per night plus tax. The hotel will provide free shuttle service to and from both the airport and Lincoln College of Technologies, TIA said.
To reserve rooms, call 303-375-0400 and mention TIA to get the discounted rate, TIA said.
To register for the course, visit TIA's website. For more information, contact Chris Hoogenboom, TIA director of training, at [email protected] or 800-876-8732 ext. 106.
