SAN LUIS POTOSI, Mexico — Goodyear Mexico has posted a video animation of its $500 million-plus car and light truck tire plant on its Facebook page.
Goodyear officials held a ceremonial ground-breaking July 28 at the plant's site in the World Trade Center Industrial complex — a business/industrial park south of San Luis Potosi.
The 1 minute, 3 second video shows a schematic of the plant in a virtual flyover and shows some artist's renderings of what the plant will look like.
The factory, Akron-based Goodyear's first since closing a plant in 2001, will be engineered with an annual capacity of 6 million units. It's expected on stream in 2017.
