AKRON -- Companies should be so lucky to have at least one or two employees who are working their way up the ranks in the business and are able to understand, enjoy and maybe even flourish in the tire business.
Those employees often help the business run smoothly and may even eventually take it over after the owner retires.
There are so many ways to describe these workers: knowledgeable, assertive and, yes, even bold. They're are often dubbed “Millennials” -- younger and working hard to prove themselves.
Those are the kinds of employees we're looking for to highlight as “Up & Comers” for a new Tire Business recognition program.
This program will focus on the tire and auto service industries' rising stars -- young professionals who are making significant contributions to the tire and automotive service industry and are the future thought-leaders to watch. Each Up & Comer for 2015 - as designated from nominations by Tire Business readers -- will be profiled on TireBusiness.com in our special look at Millennials -- an online enhancement section to the Sept. 14 print issue's special report on "Young Tire Dealers."
Nominees must be 40 years of age or younger as of Aug. 14, 2015, the deadline for entries. The nominees can be working in any sector of the tire and auto service business -- including Independent tire dealers who sell and service tires, auto service professionals, retreaders, importers/exporters, commercial tire dealers and multi-location tire dealers.
To nominate an Up and Comer for recognition visit www.tirebusiness.com/nominate and complete the form. It only takes a few moments, and no support material is requested.
Then watch for the special “Up & Comers” online feature.
