DIAMOND BAR, Calif. (July 24, 2015) — The Specialty Equipment Market Association's Wheel & Tire Council (WTC) has updated its Ride Guide with test data on the 2014 Mazda Mazda3.
The WTC launched the Ride Guide, a manual of technical test data regarding the effects of plus sizing wheels, at last year's SEMA Show with data on the Ford F-150 4x4.
Adding data for the Mazda3 provides information on the front-wheel drive compact sedan sector, the WTC said.
The WTC describes the “Ride Guide” as a valuable resource to anyone who sells wheels and tires, from manufactures to distributors, to e-tailers and brick-and-mortar installation shops. The Ride Guide is designed to help installers make confident, data-driven recommendations when it comes to changing a vehicle's tire/wheel fitment.
The information was researched and provided by the Clemson University International Center for Automotive Research (CU-ICAR).
“The purpose of these guides is to provide sales staff with the data they need to help a customer make an informed and confident decision on the purchase of their new wheel and tire package,” said Clayton Drescher, WTC Senior Council Manager.
The Guide includes data on common tire performance criteria such as ride comfort, road grip, steering firmness, directional response and steering speed.
