PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla.—TBC Corp. has hired Bill Birkins, a business development executive with more than three decades of experience, to be its senior vice president of franchise leadership.

Mr. Birkins, who has more than 32 years of experience in “leading and growing a diverse portfolio of businesses in retail and consumer brands and products,” will oversee the day-to-day operations of the company's three franchise organizations: Big O Tires, Midas Auto Service and SpeeDee Oil Change & Auto Service.

He reports directly to Brant Wilson, senior vice president of TBC's Franchise Group.

“As TBC's franchise operations continue to grow, we are excited to welcome Bill into this newly developed role,” Mr. Wilson said. “His leadership skills and experience will assist all three of our franchise organizations as we work to increase brand awareness and strive to exceed the expectations of our customers.”

Mr. Birkins joins TBC from H&R Block Inc. where he served as vice president of operations and managing director, leading the organization's operations throughout the Southeastern U.S. and Puerto Rico. Prior to that, he was an executive at Hallmark Cards Inc., with a focus on new business development and licensing.

He began his career with General Electric Co., serving 16 years in sales, marketing and product management, according to TBC. In his last position at GE, Mr. Birkins was the general manager of marketing for the consumer appliance division.

TBC serves wholesale customers in the U.S., Canada and Mexico through TBC Brands, Carroll Tire Co., TBC International and TBC de Mexico. The company also has more than 3,200 franchised and company-operated tire and automotive service centers under the brands Tire Kingdom Service Centers, Merchant's Tire & Auto Centers, NTB Tire and Service Centers, Big O Tires, Midas and SpeeDee Oil Change and Auto Service.
