CERRITOS, Calif. (July 15, 2015) — R.D. Abbott Co. Inc. (RDA) has signed a new distribution agreement with Lanxess Corp.'s Tire and Specialty Rubber business unit.
The deal extends RDA's distribution of Lanxess tire-related products in the U.S.
RDA previously represented Lanxess in the Western U.S., and the new agreement expands their working relationship to the rest of the country, RDA said in a news release. The firms reached a similar agreement in April involving Lanxess' Advanced Industrial Intermediates business unit's products, expanding the distributor's reach to the entire country for those lines, too.
The agreement, which took effect July 1, includes Lanxess' X_Butyl (including regular butyl, chlorobutyl, bromobutyl and ionomer) and Buna (including CoBR, NdBR, LiBR, ESBR and SSBR) lines.
RDA said Lanxess' affiliate Rhein Chemie Additives will cease distribution of these product lines when the new agreement takes effect.
RDA is a North American supplier and stocking distributor of materials used in rubber compounding and fabrication.
Lanxess is a global specialty chemicals company with about 16,600 employees in 29 countries, operating 52 production sites worldwide. It reported sales of about $9.6 billion in 2014.
