ORLANDO, Fla. (July 7, 2015) — AAA appointed Marshall L. Doney its new president and CEO, effective July 1.
Mr. Doney, who had been AAA's president and chief operating officer the past two years, will head the national office for the federation comprising 43 affiliated clubs with 55 million members in the U.S. and Canada.
He takes over for longtime CEO Bob Darbelnet, who retired from AAA on July 1 after serving the organization for 42 years, including in the capacity of AAA president and CEO since November 1994 after 11 years as CEO of CAA-Quebec. According to the association, Mr. Darbelnet “led the organization through several decades of growth and innovation.”
AAA said Mr. Doney is “well positioned for his role” as CEO after having successfully overseen the organization's automotive initiatives as the vice president of automotive services from 1996
