BRENTWOOD, Tenn.Shawn Rasey, president of the heavy construction and mining tire division of BKT Tires Inc. since mid-2014, has resigned from the company.
BKT is the Brentwood subsidiary of Mumbai, India-based Balkrishna Industries Ltd. Mr. Rasey joined the company in 2014 with the goal to develop its heavy construction and mining tire presence in North America, according to Rajiv

In a statement emailed to Tire Business, Mr. Rasey called BKT a great company, and I am pleased to have had the opportunity to help lay the foundation for a larger presence in the OTR market. Going forward, I will take some time with my wife to plot our forward course, and find the right fit for the next challenge.
BKT officials said the company's Brentwood office will continue to serve the heavy construction and mining tire industry under the direction of Michael Aguon, as associate vice president. He will report to Minoo Mehta, in BKT's Akron office.
Mr. Aguon has extensive OTR tire experience, according to BKT, previously holding engineering and product management positions with Bridgestone Americas and Alliance Tire Americas Inc.
