CINCINNATI (June 29, 2015) — Tire Discounters Inc. is building three retail outlets in the Chattanooga, Tenn., area that it expects to open in the coming months, expanding its network of stores in Tennessee to 10 with more on the drawing board.
The newest locations are in Hixson and East Brainerd, Tenn., and Fort Oglethorpe, Ala. The company expects to have about 60 employees in the Chattanooga area by year-end.
“Based on the great success we have had in Nashville over the past year and the growth in Chattanooga, we think this will be a strong market for us,” said Tire Discounters CEO Paul Brunner.
“We'd love to have eight or nine locations in the Chattanooga market, however, our focus is not on just trying to be the biggest. Rather, we want to make sure we get the right people in place and build our business on world-class customer service.”
Cincinnati-based Tire Discounters, the 10th largest tire retail distributor in the U.S. with more than 95 locations, started moving into Tennessee in late 2013 when it disclosed plans for a dozen stores in the Nashville area.
The family-owned and –operated dealership is opening a 67,200-sq.-ft. distribution center in Murfreesboro, Tenn., this summer to help it service its stores and customers in the area.
Tire Discounters has more than 1,000 employees and nearly 100 stores in seven major cities in four states: Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio and Tennessee. The dealership said it is seeking salespeople, management trainees, mechanics and technicians of all experience levels across the region and is accepting applications online.
