MIAMITire Group International (TGI) named Joaquin Gonzalez Jr. as president of the company.
Mr. Gonzalez, brother of TGI founder and Chairman Tony Gonzalez, joined TGI in 2006 after a football career. He first played with the University of Miami Hurricanes, winning the National Title in 2001, and then in the NFL, playing with the Cleveland Browns and the Indianapolis Colts.
Mr. Gonzalez started as TGI's COO, the company said, where he developed and implemented TGI's current ERP system, increasing sales more than 20 percent in one year, and nearly doubling sales over the next five years. He then led TGI's sales efforts in 2012, as chief marketing officer.
