WASHINGTON (June 18, 2015) — The U.S. Senate has declared July 10 “Collector Car Appreciation Day” at the request of the Specialty Market Equipment Association (SEMA) and its Automotive Restoration Market Organization and Hot Rod Industry Alliance councils.
This is the sixth consecutive year the Senate has ordered this commemoration, SEMA said. The event celebrates the vital role automotive restoration and collection plays in American society, according to the Diamond Bar, Calif.-based trade group.
SEMA invites all automotive enthusiasts to take part in Collector Car Appreciation Day by planning or attending collector car events in their community.
Through its grassroots organization, the SEMA Action Network (SAN), the association is maintaining a list of Collector Car Appreciation Day events on its website.
