BARCELONA (June 17, 2015) — Lehigh Technologies Inc., a producer of “micronized” rubber powders (MRP) from recycled rubber, has opened Lehigh Spain, a wholly owned subsidiary which will serve as the company's European marketing arm.
Lehigh Spain opened for business in Barcelona June 16, under the leadership of Lluis Molina and Josep Freixas, the company said. The subsidiary will perform all the necessary service and functions for customers in the European Union, Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Atlanta-based Lehigh said.
In addition to being the commercial face of Lehigh in the European market, the company said, Lehigh Spain will take over the European order fulfillment process and ensure smooth operation of Lehigh's European supply chain.
“The creation of Lehigh Spain ensures that key commercial and customer service capabilities are more broadly available locally, an important step in expanding the MRP market,” said Lehigh CEO Alan Barton.
Lehigh Technologies continues to work with Hera Holding on a European manufacturing strategy for MRP, the company said. Engineering and design work for the plant are complete, as is supply chain planning for raw materials, it said.
