WILKES-BARRE, Pa. (June 12, 2015) — McCarthy Tire Service has acquired Hartman Fleet Services Inc., a Manassas, Va.-based provider of heavy mechanical services, fleet maintenance and repair, and mobile mechanical services to customers in Northern Virginia, Maryland and Washington D.C.
McCarthy Tire has relocated Hartman Fleet — including Mike Hartman, president and owner of Hartman Fleet Services, and the firm's eight employees — to its existing location in Manassas under the direction of that branch's manager, Stan Strickland.
The acquisition included several trucks, including two mobile heavy vehicle service units, which will allow McCarthy to offer on-site mechanical services for the first time from that location. McCarthy offers similar services at some of its other locations.
“Hartman Fleet Services has a well-earned reputation of excellent customer service,” said John D. McCarthy, Jr., president of McCarthy Tire Service. “We are very excited to add this expanded mechanical service to our existing team. This acquisition fits in perfectly with our strategic plan, and it reflects our emphasis on providing a comprehensive plan to address all the vehicle needs of our commercial customers.”
Hartman Fleet Services said its technicians are ASE certified.
McCarthy Tire has 45 locations in six states along the East Coast, with nearly 1,000 employees and a fleet of more than 550 service vehicles. The Manassas outlet offers tires, tire services and Bandag retreading for commercial, industrial, and off-the-road (OTR) vehicles; heavy mechanical services and mobile mechanical services for commercial vehicles; and tires, services and repairs for passenger cars and light trucks.
