AVON LAKE, Ohio (June 9, 2015) — Design Engineering Inc. (DEI), a firm specializing in heat and sound control, is offering a new way to protect fuel lines, wires, cables and hoses from excessive direct or radiant heat with its Heat Shroud.
DEI said Heat Shroud is made with a high-temp glass fiber fabric bonded to aluminized material that reflects 90 percent of radiant heat and direct heat up to 500 degrees Fahrenheit. A hook-and-loop closure design makes for a simple installation, the firm added.
DEI said the product is extremely pliable and fireproof and that it fits inside diameters ranging from ½ inch to 2 ½ inches. In addition to its heat reflecting properties, DEI's Heat Shroud also provides additional protection against oil, dirt and abrasion and can be trimmed to length.
The DEI Heat Shroud is available in 3-foot lengths with adjustable diameters. Part No. 010457 adjusts in size from ½ inch to ¾ inch; Part No. 010405 adjusts in size from ½ inch to 1 ¼ inches; and Part No. 010487 adjusts from 2 inches to 2 ½ inches.
Requests for custom cut lengths up to 50 feet can be accommodated, the firm added.
