BETHESDA, Md. (June 4, 2015) — The Auto Care Association's Young Auto Care Network Group (YANG) has scheduled a program of summer meet-up events in various regions across the U.S.
These events, YANG said, are designed to provide young professionals in the car care industry — who may not have the opportunity to travel to major industry events — the chance to obtain top-notch education and networking on a more local level.
Besides networking and education, the meet-ups provide professional development opportunities hosted by professional companies and organizations, YANG said. The events may be held in conjunction with existing industry meetings.
For each meet-up, YANG will provide $500 to organizers toward facility rental, speaker fees and food, the group said. It also will provide event supplies to brand the event, including a YANG banner, business cards and a table cover.
The first meet-up will be a happy hour and networking event from 6 to 8 p.m. on June 16 at the Ocean Prime in Atlanta, hosted by Tunc Kip of Temel Gaskets.
Two further meet-ups are scheduled for August. The first will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Aug. 5 at the Bayside Sports Grill in Detroit. The event will be a happy hour with a guest speaker to be announced. The hosts will be Lisa Rodriguez of TRW Automotive, Alena Van Cleave of A & Jay Automotive Warehouse and John C. Washbish of NKG Sparkplugs (USA) Inc.
The second August meet-up will be an Aug. 14 breakfast from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. at the Grand Hyatt in Denver. The Car Care Council Women's Board is the host.
