BETHESDA, Md. (May 15, 2015) — The Auto Care Association (ACA) and Automotive Warehouse Distributors Association (AWDA) have awarded three $2,500 Auto Care Internship Scholarships for 2015.
The program is designed to provide financial support for students pursuing internships across the U.S. to gain educational experience in a variety of auto care-related careers, the ACA said. The monetary awards will pay for students' travel, lodging and meals during the internship periods.
The winners are:
• Jessica Humbert, from DePaul University, will intern with Ashland Inc.'s Valvoline unit in Lexington, Ky. Ms. Humbert will work with a team of category managers to produce reports and insights on Valvoline's business and promote tracking and analytics.
• Cody Knoll, from Northwood University, will intern with Automann Inc. in Somerset, N.J. Mr. Knoll will work in shipping and receiving in Automann's warehouse, as well as customer service in its office.
• Ian Stout, from Grinnell College, will intern with GCommerce Inc. in Des Moines, Iowa. Mr. Stout will work in the firm's implementation department with automotive aftermarket distributors to facilitate exchange of electronic information with their vendors.
The selection committee for the Auto Care Internship Scholarships includes members of the ACA Education Committee, the AWDA and the Young Auto Care Network Advisory Council.
