American Tire Depot's new location in Diamond Bar, Calif., is among five outlets the chain opened recently.

LA MIRADA, Calif. (May 15, 2015) — ATV Tires Inc. opened five American Tire Depot retail stores in the first quarter, expanding the dealership's reach to 78 stores in three counties in Southern California.

La Mirada-based American Tire Depot said it is in the midst of a growth surge, having added 20 outlets last year and pledging to open more this year.

The new outlets — in Diamond Bar, Downey, Laguna Niguel, Torrance and Yucca Valley, Calif. — are all store conversions of existing properties, including one former Firestone company store and a closed Chrysler dealership property, according to an Internet search of the property addresses.

American Tire Depot did not disclose its investment in the properties or cost of conversions.

The dealership said its drive to expand in a stagnant California economy is a “testament to its unwavering belief in the value of world class customer service, expert auto maintenance, and offering customers with a wide range of affordable wheel and tire selection.”

Together the five new locations represent at least 35 automotive specialist jobs, American Tire Depot said.

Three of the new stores — in Diamond Bar, Downey and Torrance — are in Los Angeles county, while the Laguna Niguel store is in Orange County and the Yucca Valley location is in San Bernadino County.
