CHICAGO (May 6, 2015) — Goodyear has launched its online tire buying functionality in the Chicago market, allowing consumers the option to buy direct from its website, Goodyear.com.
The e-commerce program, which Goodyear announced in January at its 2015 Dealer Conference in Dallas, is part of the tire maker's initiative to capture online buyers who put more importance on convenience than price. As part of the program, Goodyear retailers can sign up as authorized installers under the program.
“For consumers who prefer the convenience and control of online shopping, this program provides a welcome option,” said Mike Dauberman, Goodyear's senior director of marketing and interactive.
“Goodyear.com now offers Chicago drivers a simple, online shopping experience, the superior performance of Goodyear tires and the confidence of having them installed by an authorized local installer.”
Goodyear said the program is available to consumers in Chicago and seven surrounding counties — Cook; DeKalb; DuPage; Grundy; Kane; Kendall; Lake; McHenry; and Will — as well as in Jasper, Lake, Newton and Porter counties in Indiana; and Kenosha county in Wisconsin.
