PLYMOUTH, Minn.Chad Isaacs, president of Countrywide Tire & Rubber Co. for the past nine years, has purchased the wholesale distributor of specialty tires, inner tubes and wheels from founders Bob Stone and Ben Broder.
Mr. Isaacs began his career at Countrywide in 1998, working initially in the company's operations division before being promoted to president in 2006. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The Minneapolis-based company, which owns the Rubbermaster brand, did not specify how many employees it has nor how many distribution centers it operates or their locations.
Messrs. Stone and Broder established the company in 1976.
Mr. Isaacs said in a prepared statement that he is incredibly excited to purchase a company with 39 years of history in the specialty tire and inner tube industry.
I am confident that my commitment to excellence in customer service, innovations and high-quality products will help carry on the legacy of quality this company was built on.
The specialty tire marketer said it has a creative and experienced team of professionals that focus on leading with a nationwide presence in the industry through the wholesale, retail, commercial and government business segments.
Going forward, Countrywide said that through the pre-eminent business vision, leading-edge ideas and expert implementation of its president and new owner, Mr. Isaacs will lead positive changes for the future of the company, as well as the tire and wheel industry.
With Chad's direction and leadership, Countrywide will continue to grow and make advancements in the industry to benefit their customers and business partners.
According to its website, Countrywide carries low-speed tires; ST radial trailer tires; high-speed trailer tires; all-steel trailer tires; low-platform tires; light truck tires for trailer-only use; ATV tires; agricultural tires; forklift tires; wheels and assemblies. For retreading, it offers envelopes; precure tubes; and heat-resistant flaps.
Among the brands handled are: Deestone, Deli, GBC, Mastertrack and Titan.
Last year the company launched Distribution Network Affinity (DNA), an umbrella distribution program covering its LINK direct container program and Select warehouse program. Through LINK, Countrywide's logistics department provides communication between its factory and customers, who receive shipping updates such as departure from the factory, arrival at a U.S. port, delivery release and a post-delivery follow-up.
