DUNCAN, S.C. (April 20, 2015) — Michelin North America Inc.'s Tire Centers L.L.C. (TCi) subsidiary has developed a mobile app that allows independent tire dealers to view inventory and purchase tires online.
The Tire Inventory Purchasing System (TIPS) app is a mobile version of the company's TIPS online ordering system, TCi said.
“Our customers increasingly have a need to conduct business using a mobile device — whether it's to check product availability, view product information, or purchase tires right from their phones or tablets,” said Vickie Johnson, director of retail marketing for Duncan-based TCi.
“Developing a TIPS mobile app was the next logical step for TCi in our digital strategy, and we are thrilled to be one of the first in the market to offer this solution.”
The new app enables dealers to view inventory in real time, pricing and purchase directly through the app. In addition, dealers can access high-quality images, tire specs and view a complete TIPS order history. The app's “quick quote” feature enables timely retail price quoting to consumers, TCi said.
“This app enables dealers to search inventory and provide technical information, with out-the-door pricing, to their customers, friends and family at any time, day or night,” said Daphne Risco, digital solutions manager for TCi.
The TIPS app is available for download in both Apple and Android versions.
TCi launched the Web-based version of TIPS in 2008.
The company's distribution division distributes passenger and light truck tires to retailers through 86 wholesale centers across the country.
