PORTLAND, Maine (April 9, 2015) — The Tire Industry Association (TIA) will hold a Certified Automotive Training Service (ATS) instructor class Aug. 4-7 in Portland.
The four-day class will be held at Southern Maine Community College, TIA said.
The ATS program is an in-depth classroom and hands-on class that industry professionals must complete to train tire technicians in their own dealerships, according to TIA.
The program includes safety guidelines and step-by-step procedures for all aspects of passenger and light truck tire service, including wheel installation with the proper torque and tire repair.
A full day is devoted to tire pressure monitoring systems (TPMS) to give technicians a thorough understanding of TPMS requirements for the most popular domestic and import vehicles, TIA said.
