Trucker Roger Errett of Mount Pleasant, Pa., reacts to claiming the grand prize in Bridgestone Americas' buffalo wing-eating contest at the Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville, Ky.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (March 31, 2015) — An independent trucker's wing-eating prowess won the Pennsylvania resident a set of 10 Dayton-brand commercial truck tires — valued at $3,000 — from Bridgestone Commercial Solutions (BCS) at the recent Mid-America Truck Show (MATS) in Louisville.

Hungry truck driver Roger Errett of Mount Pleasant, Pa., downed close to three pounds of bone-in, buffalo chicken wings in 10 minutes at the contest, held at Bridgestone Commercial's booth at MATS.

The contest was hosted by BCS, a unit of Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations, to kick off its Dayton-brand “Tires for Truckers” campaign and help introduce eight Dayton tire patterns.

“Congratulations to Roger for being our grand prize winner and special thanks to all of the contestants for their participation,” said Matt Loos, director of truck and bus marketing for BCS. “Bridgestone knows how hard truckers work, and we salute all of the drivers….

“Today's truckers are focused on getting the job done with as little down time as possible. The new Dayton line keeps truckers moving. We launched eight new patterns, doubling the product coverage of the former lineup in January. Dayton tires are quality-proven, affordable and designed to support small fleets and owner-operators so they can keep focused on the bottom line.”

Mr. Errett competed against seven other contest participants for the grand prize. Each was required to eat all of the meat from every chicken wing on their plate in 10 minutes or less. All contestants were drivers from across the country with a valid U.S. commercial driver's license who were attending MATS.

Consolation prizes totaling more than $700 were given to all of the participants, including a $500 truck stop gift card and $275 Speedco gift card.

Mr. Errett's reaction to winning? “This is great, really great,” he said. “I grew up working around farming and took up driving to stay close to the farming environment. This is the second contest I've ever won and it's great. Thank you Dayton.”

More information about the new Dayton lineup is on the brand's website.
