LITDA announces scholarship recipients

BATON ROUGE, La. (March 26, 2015) — The Louisiana Independent Tire Dealers Association (LITDA) recently announced four recipients of its 2015 scholarship.

Each received $2,000 for their academic excellence and community leadership, according to the LITDA.

The association's scholarship is awarded to high school students who are enrolled in an accredited college or vocational school and are children or legal wards of an owner, manager or employee of an active LITDA member company.

The four recipients are:

• Katelyn Anderson, Addis, La., daughter of Michael and Stacy Gee, Chabill's Tire. Ms. Anderson is a senior at Brusly High School in Brusly, La. and plans to attend Louisiana State University (LSU) in Baton Rouge, La. to pursue a doctorate in psychology.
• Charles C. Barron III, Berwick, La., son of Charles and Beth Barron, Chabill's Tire. Mr. Barron is a senior at Central Catholic High School in Morgan City, La. and plans to attend LSU in Baton Rouge, La. to study civil engineering.

• Cole Holley, Gonzales, La., son of Miles and Melissa Holley, Skid Marks Tire Pros. Mr. Holley is a senior at East Ascension High School in Gonzales, La. and plans to attend Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, La. to study business administration.
• Hannah Rae Jones, Denham Springs, La., daughter of Darryl and Susan Jones, Skid Marks Tire Pros. Ms. Jones is a freshman at LSU in Baton Rouge, La. studying mechanical engineering.

LITDA said the scholarship recipients were honored on March 7 during the Baton Rouge-based association's 2015 Hall of Fame Banquet at the Hilton Baton Rouge Capitol Center in Baton Rouge.
