ENSCHEDE, Netherlands (March 26, 2015) — India's Apollo Tyres Ltd. has appointed Pedro Matos as its chief quality officer.
He will be based out of the tire maker's global quality and business excellence office in Eschede. Mr. Matos previously served as vice president of manufacturing for commercial specialty tires with Continental A.G. Prior to that he was the senior vice president for quality management with Conti.
“As we grow our business across geographies, the scope of quality as a function has grown multifold,” Neeraj Kanwar, vice chairman and managing director of Apollo, said in a statement. “With Pedro's well-rounded experience in benchmarking, developing and implementing best management systems and processes, he is best-suited to handle this critical function at Apollo.”
Based in Gurgaon, India, Apollo is a global tire manufacturer with about 16,000 employees worldwide.
