Falken expands in off-road racing

RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. (March 23, 2015) — Falken Tire Corp. has expanded its race program with long-time partner Brenthel Industries, which will compete in all 2015 Best in the Desert (BITD) and several SCORE series events.

Brothers Jordan and Jonathan Brenthel, co-owners of Brenthel Industries, unveiled their Falken Tire Livery Spec Trophy Truck at the Mint 400, which took place March 14. They competed in the 6100 Class.

The Mint 400 is considered by many to be the toughest off-road race in North America since its inaugural year in 1967, according to Falken.

“Falken continues to use desert racing to test the durability, sidewall construction and overall performance and reliability of our very successful WildPeak line in order to deliver a superb product to our consumer for everyday use,” said Nick Fousekis, Falken”s director of motorsports and marketing.

“We could not have aligned ourselves with a better off-road representative — and series champion — than Brenthel Industries, and are excited to support them throughout this new off-road season.”

Brenthel Industries owns and operates an off-road desert truck manufacturing facility in Anaheim, Calif., and the team ran specially grooved 35x12.50R17 Falken WildPeak AT tires all last season and in 2013.

Jonathan Brenthel used a Spec Trophy Truck in both BITD and SCORE and won the Baja 500 on Falken WildPeak MT tires. Both brothers had multiple podium finishes throughout 2014, and the team also ran a purpose-built truck at the Dakar Rally in Chile last year.
