CRESTVIEW, Fla. (March 18, 2015) — Retreading industry veteran David V. Aldrich, 85, died March 13 after a long illness.
Born in upstate New York in 1929, he married his high school sweetheart, Beth, in 1950.
He had a long career in the tire retreading industry, with stints as a manager at Royal Tire Service in upstate New York; as an inspector for the Tire Retreading Institute in Washington, D.C.; and in sales and consulting with Hawkinson Co.
Mr. Aldrich was a life member and past Exalted Ruler of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks and a longtime active member of Crestview's Church of the Epiphany, serving in the Vestry and in the choir.
His survivors include his son Donald (Laura) Aldrich; son-in-law Thomas MacDonald; grandson Jason MacDonald; step-grandsons Eric (Tiffany) Henson and Paul Houchens; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruth and Louis Aldrich; Beth, his wife of 48 years; infant son David Jr.; and daughters Mary Kay and Ruth Ann “Scooter.”
