WELD has sponsored the Hot Rodders of Tomorrow program since 2013, including this team of unidentified students who competed at the 2014 SEMA Show in Las Vegas.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (March 13, 2015) — Custom wheel maker Weld Racing L.L.C. has renewed its sponsorship of the “Hot Rodders of Tomorrow Engine Challenge” program, which it has sponsored since 2013.

Hot Rodders of Tomorrow is a nationwide high school engine building competition that, according to WELD, challenges youth to pursue an automotive career. Regional competitions are held across the country in which high school teams compete against the clock in a total engine rebuild.

Norm Young, WELD's president and CEO, said the competition “provides youth in our industry with the chance to further their education through an exciting competition format.

“We are enthusiastic supporters of programs like this that encourage the youth of tomorrow to become a part of the automotive industry. Hot Rodders of Tomorrow is a fantastic organization that helps instill a passion for motorsports and the automotive industry in general.”

Last year, the program reached more than 770 high school students and, in the past six years, has impacted more than 3,114 students. This year's season consists of 14 events that include the Dual Championship at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show this fall in Las Vegas, and the Performance Racing Industry (PRI) tradeshow, which runs Dec. 10-12 in the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis.

More information about Hot Rodders of Tomorrow is on its website as well as Facebook page.

Weld, a Granite Creek company, offers forged race wheels for dirt, oval and drag racing, along with wheels for performance street cars and trucks engineered, built and tested at its facilities in Kansas City.
