ORLANDO, Fla. (March 9, 2015) — The Car Care Council (CCC) Women's Board (WB) raised more than $7,000 in its third annual silent auction during the 2015 Women's Board Winter Leadership Conference, held Feb. 4-5 at the Caribe Royale in Orlando.
“A key objective of the WB is to support and encourage women pursuing a career in the automotive aftermarket. What better way are we able to do this than through the WB scholarship fund?” said Amy Mattinat, WB president.
“We could not be more excited with the results achieved at our silent auction, and we thank every individual and organization that contributed to its success.”
Items for the auction were donated by WB associate companies and auto care industry supporters, the board said, and all proceeds will go to the Women's Board scholarship fund, which will facilitate a record number of scholarships in 2015 for the WB.
This year, the WB will present eight scholarships to female students studying to enter the auto care industry: four to postsecondary students and four to high school students.
