WAKEFIELD, Mass. (March 2, 2015) — Alliance Tire Americas Inc. has opened a 100,000-sq.-ft. warehouse in Pomona, Calif., to service customers in the western U.S.
The southern California warehouse is the company's fourth distribution center in North America. The others are in Houston, Memphis, Tenn., and Parkesburg, Pa.
“As a leader in agricultural, construction and forestry tires, it's important for Alliance Tire Group (ATG) to have a strong presence and commitment to our customers in the West,” said James Clark, president of Alliance Tire Americas.
“The new warehouse is located close to one of the country's largest container ports as well as major freeways, allowing us to efficiently supply the growing demand for our tires among distributors, dealers and OEMs throughout the western U.S. and Canada.”
The Pomona warehouse supports Alliance's growth initiative west of the Rockies, the company said, which also includes expanding the tire maker's sales, customer service and field engineering staff in the region.
As part of its initiative in the western U.S., Alliance recently hired industry veteran Michael Bicknell to be its regional sales manager-West Coast.
Mr. Clark said Alliance plans to celebrate the opening of its new distribution center with special grand opening promotions on tire purchases through the facility.
The California warehouse will stock ATG's Alliance, Galaxy and Primex brands, as well as Aeolus truck tires, for which Alliance Tire Americas is the exclusive North American distributor. The facility runs two shifts per day to maintain a fast turnaround of warehoused product, Alliance said.
