AAMCO opens training 'university'

NEWNAN, Ga. (Feb. 23, 2015) — AAMCO Transmissions Inc. has opened AAMCO University, a training facility in Newnan that will provide service training to AAMCO technicians, managers and franchisees.

The educational facility offers both lecture and hands-on technical instruction with a theater-style classroom, as well as a full-service AAMCO center. The facility also promotes long-distance learning via webcasts and the ability to record detailed hands on “how to” videos for the thousands of employees that may not be able to attend a class at any given time, the company said.

AAMCO University offers more than 300 interactive courses via its online learning management system with more in development.  This platform features webcasts, an extensive video library and real-time streaming of interactive sessions to franchisees and employees.

The company's university also will provide prospective AAMCO franchisees a first look at the franchise operation. AAMCO has more than 675 automotive centers throughout the U.S. and Canada.

AAMCO broke ground on the project last August.
