Snap-on launches cordless impact tool

KENOSHA, Wis. (Feb. 20, 2015) — Snap-on Tools, a division of Snap-on Inc., has launched the CT761, a 14.4-volt, 3/8-inch Drive MicroLithium Cordless Impact tool.

Providing 120 foot-pounds of torque, the new tool is capable of producing 2,000 RPMs of free speed to handle a wide range of torque applications, Snap-on said. With a weight of just over two pounds, the CT761 allows users to work comfortably for longer periods of time, boosting productivity, the firm added.

Kenosha-based Snap-on said the tool is ideal for use in cramped engine compartments and other restricted access applications. It also can be used for fender bolts, water pump pulley bolts and seat removal.

Features of the new tool include:

• A nose-mounted LED light for visibility in cramped engine compartments;
• A variable-speed, toggle-style trigger for precise control;
• An auto-off function that activates when the tool is used under voltage or over current, shutting it down before it overheats; and
• A 2.0 Ah battery that Snap-on said delivers longer run times, along with a battery life indicator on the fuel gauge.
