BOWIE, Md. (Feb. 19, 2015) — “Tire Safety Starts with Tire Registration,” the latest in the “Tire Safety Starts with…” consumer education video series, has just been released by the Tire Industry Association (TIA).
The video outlines the different methods motorists can use to register their tires, and also explains the date code within the tire registration number (TIN), TIA said in a Feb. press release.
The video also demonstrates to motorists how to access the tire registration page on the Rubber Manufacturers Association website and register their tires with some of the most popular tire manufacturers, TIA said.
“With all of the additional attention that has been given to tire registration lately, we feel it is the perfect time to raise awareness on the subject,” said TIA Executive Vice President Roy Littlefield.
“Our goal is to remind retailers of their responsibility to provide the TIN for every new tire that they sell and educate motorists on why it's important to follow through with the registration process,” Mr. Littlefield said.
