“Fleet operations and maintenance managers are looking for consistent, trustworthy tire monitoring and evaluation,” said Vic Koelsch, chief operating officer with MATT.
“Michelin Tire Care gives them the valuable information and technical insights they need to ensure they are getting the best [return on investment] from their tire assets.”
All of the maintenance data captured through the national network is made available to fleets in real-time via direct integration with their asset maintenance system, Michelin said.
The tire maker is offering two tire care programs:
- Fleet Ready monitors tire inflation pressure, tread depth, valve caps and irregular wear, plus a visual inspection scheduled at a pre-determined frequency chosen by the fleet. From this information, technicians provide summary reports that highlight immediate needs and project tire replacement.
- Fleet Fit adds plus guidance on tire by wheel position and application, tire forecasting, budgeting and tire optimization to the Fleet Ready assets.
Michelin also offers Fleet Ready and Fleet Fit customers access to Road Ready over-the-road tire monitoring to help fleets protect their vehicles on the go. Road Ready is available exclusively at Love's Travel Stops in their TirePass fuel lanes.
The company is backing Tire Care with a guarantee, but it did not elaborate on the guarantee's details.
Michelin also did not disclose the cost of the program nor how independent Michelin dealers fit into it.
Michelin said Tire Care is considered part of its Michelin Commercial Service Network, whose other services include ONCall 2.0 expanded emergency road service and Michelin Truck Care preventive maintenance services.
