TGI adds TBR line to Duramas brand

MIAMI (Feb. 11, 2015) — Tire Group International L.L.C. (TGI) is expanding its proprietary Duramas brand into the medium truck category with two patterns, the STR-100 steer and DRV-100 drive, available in 11R22.5 and 11R24.5 sizes.

TGI will distribute the tires to its customers worldwide, including its key markets in Latin America as well as the U.S. and Canada.

The tires are made in China, but TGI did not identify the manufacturer. The Miami-based distributor said the tires are designed for long-haul applications and offer durability and longer wear.

TGI launched the Duramas brand in the fourth quarter of 2013 as an economy segment passenger and light truck line.

Joaquin Gonzalez Jr., TGI's chief marketing officer, said “Duramas' commitment to innovation is evident. We are continuously researching and developing new tread compounds and innovative tread patterns to meet our market needs and exceed our customers' expectations.”

Duramas is one of six TGI house brands; the others are Astro, Cosmo, Industar, Luna and Orion. The wholesale distributor also represents other manufacturers' brands, including MRF, Cooper, Mastercraft, Sumitomo, Milestar, Kenda, Mickey Thompson, Titan, and Galaxy.
