Purcell opens KC commercial site

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Feb. 5, 2015) — Purcell Tire Co. has opened a commercial service center in Kansas City, with Richard Kerber managing the location.

“We recognized Kansas City as being a vibrant and active commercial market, we are excited about this latest acquisition,” said Roger Lucas, CEO of Purcell Tire Co., noting that Kansas City is a natural expansion with other locations in the area and our truck and OTR retread plant” in nearby Potosi, Mo.

The center is Purcell Tire's ninth in Missouri, but first in the Kansas City area. The dealership has more than 60 outlets in 10 states serving customers in 40 states. The facility is located in north Kansas City with ready access to Interstates 29, 35 and 435.

he size of the facility will support a large inventory of tires to support the area, Purcell said, with auto, light truck, commercial, industrial and off-the-road tires. Purcell did not disclose the facility's size or number of bays.

For this location, Purcell said it has purchased service trucks that will provide roadside service for customers 24/7.

Last year Purcell Tire added commercial tire servicing capabilities to an automotive service center in Tucson, Ariz.

Purcell Tire is a family-owned business that was started in 1936 by Robert M. Purcell. It has expanded to more than 60 locations and also runs six tire retread shops.
