HOUSTON (Feb. 2, 2015) — Albert Davis, a former senior executive for the International Institute of Synthetic Rubber Producers Inc. (IISRP), died on Jan. 26.

Mr. Davis served as the IISRP's first deputy managing director when the institute was formed in 1960, serving in that capacity until he retired in 1984, according to James L. McGraw, IISRP managing director and CEO.

“I had known Al since the late 1970s when I first became associated with the IISRP, and we had traveled together extensively and became very close to he and his wife Vivian,” Mr. McGraw said in a news release. “My wife Pat and I adored them both and cherished our times at our annual meetings together.”

Mr. Davis is credited with developing the IISRP's Synthetic Rubber Manual, which remains an important industry publication, as well as the development and management of IISRP's statistical programs.

The IISRP is an international not-for-profit trade association with more than 60 corporate members, in 22 countries, who produce 80 percent of the world's supply of synthetic rubber. It is based in Houston and has section offices in Milan, Tokyo and Beijing.
