SAN FRANCISCO (Feb. 2, 2015) — RepairPal Inc.'s certified shop network has grown to more than 1,000 auto repair shops nationwide and the online service plans to double the network's size this year.
Launched in 2007, RepairPal is an online service that offers consumers an auto repair price estimator for their locations and provides a list of certified auto repair shops.
RepairPal said it performs an intensive audit to verify a shop's business practices, technical abilities, pricing policies and warranty coverage to help consumers find a quality, fair-priced mechanic. RepairPal estimated that less than 10 percent of mechanics will meet the requirements to pass its certification standards.
With recent investments from United Services Automobile Association, Castrol innoVentures and Cars.com, RepairPal said it continues to add auto repair shops to its network and plans to double the network size in 2015.
“RepairPal protects consumers with the most rigorous technical shop evaluation process in the industry — no one else does this,” said RepairPal CEO Art Shaw. “We're here to restore consumer confidence in auto repair by discovering great mechanics who charge fair prices.”
RepairPal's website traffic has grown by more than 600 percent since the network launched, the company said, noting that more than 3 million people each month engage with RepairPal's online and mobile tools.
