FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. (Jan. 29, 2015) — The Equipment and Tool Institute (ETI) began the year with a record high membership.

The institute said its ranks number 100 members — 88 full members and 12 associate members.

ETI said its “reputation in the automotive aftermarket tool and equipment segment and the popularity of its events, combined with the willingness of current ETI members to introduce the institute to business associates and partners, contribute to the increasing participation.” The institute also cited its interaction with the industry through conferences, announcements, Equipment and Tool Institute News and social media has also helped to increase membership.

“ETI's relevance in the industry continues to grow and add important value to our membership,” said Greg Potter, ETI executive manager. “ETI's direction and the guidance provided by our strong board of directors has driven ETI and its membership numbers to the level it is at today.

“This relevance is reflected in our growth the last few years and gives us great promise looking towards the future of the association.”

The organization said some of its membership benefits include access to OEM Technical Data, industry advocacy and involvement, access to industry information, group forums, market research, ETI events and industry networking.

Founded in 1947, ETI is a trade association of automotive tool and equipment manufacturers and technical information providers with the mission to “advance the vehicle service industry by providing technical data and open dialog between the manufacturers of transportation products, government regulators and the providers of tools, equipment and service information.”

For more details about ETI programs and activities, contact Jessie Korosec, marketing and events manager, by calling 248-656-5085 or via email at [email protected].
