FORT MYERS, Fla.—Nationally syndicated radio personality and auto repair expert Pam Oakes has sold her dealership, Pam's Motor City Automotive and Tire Center in Fort Myers, to John Kish, who previously owned Boss Automotive of West Chester, Pa.
Ms. Oakes told Tire Business that she is pursuing an undisclosed opportunity that would not allow her to have time to run the dealership.
In addition to being a contributor to Tire Business' automotive service e-newsletter, Service Zone, she is an ASE-certified technician, author, automotive patent holder, public speaker and a radio personality offering consumer education on automotive maintenance on “Car Care for the Clueless.”
Mr. Kish, an automotive technician, recently sold his automotive repair business near Philadelphia.
“John and I have the same mindset regarding the importance of the relationship between the shop, the customer and the car,” Ms. Oakes said.
The dealership will retain its name and staff, she said.
Ms. Oakes founded Pam's Motor City Automotive in 1995 and for awhile was its sole employee. Today, the 12-bay shop employs nine.
