BOWIE, Md. (Jan. 9, 2015) — The Tire Industry Association (TIA) has scheduled multiple three- and four-day sessions in Baltimore and Denver for the 2015 Certified Commercial Tire Service (CTS) Instructor Training and Certification Program.
All Baltimore classes are scheduled at the Community College of Baltimore County in Catonsville, Md. Dates for the four-day classes are March 10-13, June 2-5 and Oct. 20-23, with the three-day classes starting on March 11, June 3 and Oct. 21.
In Denver, CTS classes will be held at the Lincoln College of Technology, Aurora, Colo. Dates for four-day classes are April 28-May 1, Sept. 29-Oct. 2 and Dec. 15-18, with three-day classes beginning on April 29, Sept. 30 and Dec. 16.
The CTS “Train the Trainer” courses certify commercial tire technicians to train their colleagues in their home workplaces, TIA said.
The four-day courses begin on a Tuesday with students taking a full day of hands-on training, according to TIA, including the demounting, mounting, installation, removal and repair of a tubeless truck tire.
On Wednesday, the four-day students join the three-day students for hands-on demonstrations and classroom instruction.
Students with less than two years of commercial truck tire experience must take the four-day course, TIA said.
